Season-Opening Ride

Sat, May 4 @ 12:30 pm - 5:00 pm - The Eastern Hills Pedestrian Mall

Kicking off our 11th year of providing inclusive community experiences that connect people, places and causes by bicycle, our first of 26 straight free and inclusive Monday night community bike rides will NOT be on a Monday – instead we will celebrate the start of the season (and a certain epic space opera media franchise created by George Lucas) on Saturday May the 4th!

Our pivot to a one-time weekend kickoff is an effort to encourage out of towners (who might not otherwise be available to travel to Buffalo on any given Monday night) to join in on the two wheeled enjoyment and connection, increasing overnight stays and bringing business into downtown Buffalo with them. These out-of-towners will include our friends from Slow Roll Cleveland and Slow Roll Detroit, who will join us for a full weekend of riding, as well as a leadership summit facilitating discussions between all three chapters on future collaborations, best practices and more way to positively impact our communities.

Saturday May 4 2024 – meet at 1230pm, ride at 1pm – at The Erie Hills Pedestrian Mall, a relatively unknown, underdeveloped and under-appreciated product of 1970’s urban placemaking, smack-dab in the heart of downtown Buffalo. We’ll be popping the party up right under the Skyway and 190 ramps down there, all in the former footprint of Buffalo’s original primary outdoor recreation and social space, Terrace Park.
